Mattress insulations
The mattress insulation system is an insulating cushion filled with insulating material. The materials are designed to meet the technical requirements for each turbine such as temperature and installation space.
These reusable mattresses are covered by a high-temperature fabric with stainless steel wire. A different fabric design to meet customer specifications or needs is possible. Using manual measurements, 3D scans or the 3D models included, each section of the unit can be individually constructed. This means that any shape can be created and almost any body can be insulated with a precise and interlocking fit. Each mattress is given its own individual metal label, enabling correct identification and subsequent replacement of individual damaged mattresses. Through a multi-layer, seam-staggered mattress insulation system, we can achieve an optimal insulation effect. The easy-maintenance design results in savings of around 40% in service costs compared to other insulation systems. The mattress insulation is also ideal for use with electrically heated units.
Spray insulation
The spray insulation system is a closed mineral-wool-based insulation system applied in combination with water. For mechanical and oil-repellent protection, the insulation system is sealed with a heat-insulating hard jacket and an oil-repellent coating. Due to the support structure installed in advance, the insulation system reduces vibrations. The advantages of this insulation system are characterized by its long service life. The spray insulation is applied to high-maintenance parts in such a way that this work can be carried out non-destructively. The compact and closed insulation system enables an optimal insulation effect despite a lower insulation thickness and the hard jacket provides improved noise reduction. Our spray insulation is adapted to the respective customer specifications and is applied accordingly.
Combined spray and mattress insulation system with sheet metal cover
Particularly in large electricity-generating power plants, a combined insulation system on the steam turbine set has become the standard over the years. With a combined insulation system, a closed spray insulation system is used for components that are not relevant for maintenance. On the components that are relevant for maintenance, a mattress insulation is used, which is protected against mechanical influences by a sheet metal cover. The sheet metal cover can be made from different types of sheet metal to meet the customer’s needs. At the same time, the sheet metal cover also protects the insulation mattresses against external influences such as oil and water. The system has proven to be popular in recent decades due to its easy-maintenance design and reusable insulation.
Tight cladding
The installation of tight cladding offers numerous technical advantages that optimise both the durability and functionality of the insulation.
The mechanical protection of the mattress insulation ensures that external influences such as impacts and vibrations do not cause damage and that oil contamination can be prevented, thereby increasing and maintaining the efficiency, running time and performance level of the plant and machinery.
The individual sheet metal elements are easy to remove, making access for maintenance work easier and minimizing downtime as a result. In addition, the system provides comprehensive protection against environmental influences such as water, sand and wind (especially in the case of outdoor plant and machinery), significantly extending the service life of the insulation.
The concept is rounded off by a high-quality external appearance that meets the optical demands for modern plant and machinery.
The effective protection of the insulation results in significant cost savings in maintenance, because the insulation is subjected to less stress and therefore needs to be replaced less often.
Less downtime due to environmental influences also means higher availability of the plant and machinery and increased productivity.
An additional advantage is the reduction in noise, which contributes to comfortable working conditions for staff and compliance with noise protection regulations.
Covers
A fabric cover is made and fitted over the outer layer of the fabric mattress to ensure that the joints of the mattresses are largely covered.
The choice of fabric material is discussed and chosen with the customer.
The cover prevents oil from penetrating, some fabrics prevent dust and dirt from settling and the cover is easy to clean with a damp cloth.
